In online blackjack games your goal is to draw a hand that is higher than the dealer's hand, without "busting", which means a hand's total that exceed 21 points. There are more definitions used in online blackjack games, they are easy to learn and memorize, these next definitions would help you understand what's going on at all online blackjack sessions.

Insurance –In case the croupier has an Ace (available in online blackjack games that the dealer's cards are facing up). You place a side-bet, according to the table's limits. Insurance means that if case the dealer hits a blackjack (read what 'blackjack' means in the next paragraph). If the dealer hand is blackjack then you are paid 3:2, if his hand isn't blackjack then you would lose your side bet. Surrender – You can surrender at all times in most online blackjack variants, this means the round stops before its end and you lose half your money. In some cases surrendering is the best option.

Splitting pairs – If you receive two similar cards (two cards of 7) you may split your hand, thus creating two hands. In order to split your hand you must double your initial bet. Afterwards the game proceeds as usual. Doubling down – You can double your bet in later stages of the online blackjack round, but this means you would receive only one more card. It is advised to double when you're hand's value is 11-13. Blackjack – When your first two cards total up to 21. Meaning, you have an Ace card and a 10/Jack/Queen/King card. You are paid 3:2 in such cases.
